1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide Directly

Account registration data: first name, last name, date of birth, state and city, phone number, email address, password, and profile image.
Sex (optional, provided at your discretion during registration).
Business account details: business name, address, and business type.
Listing content: anything you post as a listing, of any type the platform offers (vehicles, parts, services, car builds and build showcases, events, and uncategorized listings), including descriptions, photos, pricing, and condition information.
Communications: messages sent through our in-platform messaging system, support inquiries, and feedback.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

Device and browser information: IP address, browser type, operating system, and device identifiers.
Usage data: pages visited, search queries, listings viewed, time spent on pages, and click patterns.
Location data: approximate location derived from IP address; precise location if you grant permission.
Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 6).
Marketing attribution data: the campaign parameters (UTM tags) present in the link you arrived through, stored on your device so we can tell which campaign or referral brought you to the platform.
Transaction and interaction logs: subscription purchases, listing activity, messaging history, and notification interactions.

1.3 Information from Third Parties

Google Analytics collects aggregated, anonymized usage data about how visitors interact with our platform (pages visited, session duration, general location). We do not receive personally identifiable information from Google Analytics.

1.4 Lead Information

When you contact a business through the platform, we create a lead record so that business can follow up with you. A lead contains only the account information you have already chosen to make public: your name, profile image, phone number, and email address. Contact details you have marked as private are not included in a lead and are not shared with the business.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Create, maintain, and secure your account and business profiles.
Process subscription payments and manage billing.
Enable you to create, manage, and respond to listings of every type the platform offers.
Facilitate in-platform messaging and notifications between users.
Create and route leads so a business you have contacted can respond to you.
Verify identity and prevent fraudulent activity or policy violations.
Provide customer support and respond to your inquiries, handled internally by our team.
Personalize your experience, including search results and recommended listings.
Analyze anonymized usage trends via Google Analytics to improve our platform's features and performance.
Send transactional emails (e.g., account confirmations, password resets, subscription receipts), managed internally.
Send marketing communications, if you have opted in.
Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

3. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:

3.1 With Other Users

When you post a Listing, certain information (business name, listing details, photos, and general location) is publicly visible to other users. Your contact information is only shared when you initiate or receive a message through our platform, or when contacting a business creates a lead, in which case the business receives only the details described in Section 1.4. Automeet does not facilitate or process financial transactions between users.

3.2 With Service Providers

We share data with a limited number of trusted third-party providers who assist us in operating our platform, including:

Payment processors for subscription billing.
Cloud hosting and infrastructure providers.
Google Analytics, which collects anonymized usage data via a standard tracking header. Google's data use is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

We do not share your data with third-party email delivery services, notification platforms, or customer support tools: these functions are handled entirely by our internal team. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only as directed by us.

3.3 For Legal Reasons

We may disclose your information when required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Automeet, our users, or the public.

3.4 Business Transfers

If Automeet is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email or prominent notice on our platform before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

4. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. If you close your account, we will delete or anonymize your data within 90 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, regulatory, or fraud-prevention purposes. Listing data may be retained in anonymized form for analytics purposes.

5. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights with respect to your personal information:

Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
Deletion: Request that we delete your personal data, subject to legal retention requirements.
Portability: Request a machine-readable export of your data.
Objection: Object to certain types of processing, including direct marketing.
Opt-out of marketing emails: Use the unsubscribe link in any email or update your notification settings.

You can control cookie settings through your browser. Disabling certain cookies may affect platform functionality. We do not currently respond to Do Not Track signals.

7. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), password hashing, and access controls to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

8. Children's Privacy

Automeet is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that a minor has provided us with personal information, we will delete it promptly. Contact us at support@automeet.com if you believe a minor has registered on our platform.

9. International Users

Automeet is operated from the United States. If you access our platform from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S. By using Automeet, you consent to this transfer. We will apply appropriate safeguards as required by applicable law.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. When we do, we will revise the Effective Date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will provide additional notice via email or a prominent in-platform notification. Your continued use of Automeet after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
